This has scuppered Joshua’s bid to become heavyweight champ sooner rather than later and it’s still unclear who the 29-year-old will fight next at Wembley on April 13.
However, Joshua’s promoter Hearn put forward the suggestion that AJ could fight Fury then.
Hearn said on Fight Night: “I’m not saying anything about negotiations. You can all go away and leave me alone to get on with it and we’ll see what happens.
“We’d fight Fury in April. He messaged me the other day and I passed on my congratulations. He deserves a huge amount of respect for proving me wrong…again!
“But what a time it is for the heavyweight division. I believe we have the No.1 heavyweight in the world and he’s consistently going to prove that over time and we’ll see what happens on April 13.”

Hearn also discussed the possibility of a fight with American Wilder but suggested the WBC heavyweight belt holder was not interested in taking on Joshua and having the opportunity of becoming undisputed heavyweight champ.
Hearn added: “It was a great performance from Tyson Fury and there’s obviously a rematch with Wilder.
“If Wilder wants to become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world then there’s only one fight for him to take [Joshua]. But I don’t know how important that is for him.
“It’s certainly important to us and it should be important to everyone’s legacy.”
